I didn't get to meet Matt in person at the San Diego Comic Con 2000, but I was able to get his e-mail address from Jason Hall who had a packet that he dropped off at the booth.

I got in touch with him right away after the con and he wanted to do a pinup for the book.  I think this was before I thought I’d do the alternates.  Matt penciled out some great stuff and had fun with it.  That’s what I really wanted.  The tubes? It’s just another play on “Got Milk”.  He was going to do the whole thing himself including colors, but had some business back East so he had a friend from Top Cow, Eric Basaldua, ink the piece and another friend from the Cow color it.  I liked her colors so much that she ended up coloring all of issue #2 and much of #3 as well.  I think I finally got to meet Matt at the 2001 San Diego Con.  We’ve been in touch ever since and you should check out his Vision Walker website for his latest projects!
