SPILLED MILK PRESS RELEASE #2
For Global Release

Spilled Milk is finally published.  Technically it is a preview issue, but an issue nonetheless.  The print run was limited to 5,000 and half of those will go to retailers, magazines, and reviewers so they can get an idea what the comic will be about.  The 30-page, gray toned, preview issue also features a full color wraparound cover by the multi-talented Monte Moore.

Unofficially, creator Parker Smart has hired on Alp Altiner to finish up the inks on issues 2, 3, and 4.  He is currently working on the Top Cow one-shot Witchblade / Darkchylde.  Once the pages start flowing off Alp’s table then the deal will be official.

Smart added his own pinup and one from former Extreme artist Rey “Rain” Ramos.  Smart admits he’s no Ross, but thinks that his skills will improve with time.  Although many who have seen the pinup on the website say that it’s better than some artists in the business.  Monte jokingly added, “Are you trying to put me out of business?”  Smart will continue to write the four-issue mini-series and the success of the limited series will determine the future of the ongoing series.  “I want to be able to tell people at the Con that I can draw, but now well enough to showcase my work in a complete book”, says Smart who receives many requests to draw pinups in only five minutes.

Unfortunately publishing over 3,000 issues disqualified the fledgling publisher from having a small press booth at the Comic-Con International in San Diego this year.  So this year Spilled Milk will be in a small booth in the main hall.  Four out of the five artists will be attending the Con in San Diego so covering the preview issue with signatures should be pretty easy.  One can be purchased at the Con and it’s a steal for $2.50 after having four artists sign it.  Rey even says he’ll be there.  So if you can find him then that would be a huge bonus.

                                                                       END OF RELEASE

I would like to thank those who posted my first release.  Although many had deemed it un-newsworthy, I believe that it was in that it was the first press release and announced the creation of a new company and title.  Even though the company might have been started four years ago, Spilled Milk joined the web in November of 1998 and I didn’t feel that promotion was necessary until early this year.

Thank you in advance for posting this little news blurb.____________________
